What do you want to be remembered for when you die? It’s
quite telling when you listen to your answer.
There are books on this very subject and what really
stands out is it’s not what people are usually spending the most energy doing.
They may spend most of their time and energy on their career but in the end
they wished they had laughed more, spent more time with loved ones, been the
best dad in the world or basically took the time to enjoy life by living in the
present moment.
It is utterly amazing when you see how much energy
people but into the things that in the end won’t give them the joy they truly seek.
To offset this and leave this world knowing you’ve lived your life to the fullest,
do what I do, ask yourself if someday you’ll regret not being there for your
parent or child, not going on that cruise you’ve always wanted to go on, not
taking that hot air balloon ride. Fill in the blanks to suit your own life, if
you won’t regret it than it’s not all that important to you. If you will, get
cracking and put the wheels in motion to make it happen.
Go out with a smile on your face knowing you’ve lived
your life to the fullest with no regrets.
