What is it about when a Mom speaks to her baby in that
high pitched sing song voice that makes the child stares back in a transfixed
trance? The melancholy tone of the voice makes him watch every move the Mom
makes with her face. Sometimes she even
gets a laugh for a smile.
But I’ve noticed that even pets take to this sound, especially
dogs. Talk to a dog the same way you talk to a baby and chances are you’ll get
the same transfixed star. It’s as if they’re under a spell.
Curious, has anyone else noticed this?
